Formed in 2009 at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, in 2015 the Trio Isimsiz won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Trondheim Competition, and in 2017 2nd Prize at the Haydn International Competition in Vienna. This year they have been given a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.  Timothy Ridout became the first British winner of the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition in 2016 at the age of 21 - listen to his Wigmore Hall recital online to find out why!  Following Beethoven's trio, written shortly after the 'Pastoral' symphony, and Schumann's 'fairy tale pictures' and lieder arranged for viola and piano, the players combine for what is arguably the greatest of all piano quartets - a dramatic work in C minor with a glorious cello tune opening the blissful E major slow movement.

An outstanding debut disc by the Trio Isimsiz whose unusually thoughtful interpretations are presented with dazzling technical mastery
